Oregon’s Office of Schooling allocated nearly $2 million for a fellowship that would coach K-12 educators from various backgrounds to reject the “eurocentric worldview” of “individualism,” Fox Information Digital has uncovered.

The fellowship will “deepen educators’ understanding… of the individual, the institutional and the systemic impacts of racism on educational facilities and communities.” Fellows will make their own venture “that disrupts a racist pattern/exercise/plan, or is effective in the direction of liberation/equity/decolonization.”

The fellowship is funded by Oregon’s College student Success Act, which prepared to commit $2 billion in K-12 schooling, for the goal of “increasing obtain and options for pupils who have been traditionally underserved in the education and learning program.”

In purchase to qualify, grant applicants have to display an “equity lens or software” in order to “ensure that no focal group or community is overlooked in the method of community engagement and plan growth.

The department’s definition of an “equity lens” means a target on “on race and ethnicity,” but also consists of other groups as effectively.
