USask celebrates longest functioning Indigenous instructor education and learning software in North The us – Saskatoon
The University of Saskatchewan celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Indian Instructor Schooling Method which aims to improve the variety of First Nations instructors throughout Canada.
The program was also established to add to faculty devices where Indigenous and non-Indigenous young children make up the university population.
“ITEP (Indian Instructor Schooling Plan) was created for the reason that it was what our Elders preferred: to bolster id and society and give chances to make powerful Indigenous people and communities as a result of schooling,” Yvette Arcand, director of ITEP and a 1997 graduate of the software said.
